North Korea announced on the 23rd (local time) that it had conducted nuclear counterattack tactical training using super-large multiple rocket launchers under the leadership of Kim Jong-un. North Korea also announced that all missiles are capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

This training is conducted in the following order: practical training to familiarize units with the nuclear counterattack preparation procedures when the 'volcano alert' system, the nation's largest nuclear crisis alert, is issued, practice of operating the nuclear counterattack command system, and shooting super-large multiple rocket launchers mounted on a simulated nuclear combat unit. North Korea claimed that it was done.

When asked whether there will be any changes in cost sharing in the defense cost sharing negotiations currently underway between the United States and South Korea in Hawaii, he said, "There is nothing to disclose yet as the talks are ongoing, and more information will be provided after the talks."

**The ROK-U.S. defense cost sharing negotiations are negotiations for a new Special Defense Cost Sharing Agreement (SMA) that will determine South Korea's share of the cost of stationing U.S. troops in South Korea after 2026. The current cost-sharing negotiations expire in October 2025. With the U.S. presidential election taking place this year, attention is being paid to whether there will be any changes.

**한미 방위비 분담금 협상은 2026이후 주한미군 주둔비용 중 한국이 부담할 몫을 정할 새 방위비분담특별협정(SMA) 협상이다. 현재 비용분담금 협상은 25년 10월까지이다. 올해 미대선이 있어서 어떤 변동이 있을지 귀추가 주목된다.
