“President Trump: “South Korea Did Not Help the U.S. in the War with Iran.”

On March 31 (local time), during an Easter luncheon held at the White House, President Trump stated that an Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is not a U.S. concern. President Trump indicated that he would leave this issue for other nations such as those in Europe and South Korea to resolve.

트럼프 대통령은 3월 31일(현지시간) 백악관에서 열린 부활절 오찬행사에서 이란의 호르무즈해협 봉쇄는  미국의 문제가 아니라고 밝혔다.  트럼프 대통령은 이 문제는 유럽 및 한국 등 나라가 해결하도록 나두겠다고 밝혔다.

President Trump has made it clear that the issue regarding the Strait of Hormuz is not a war objective for a U.S. invasion of Iran.

호르무즈 해협 이슈는 미국이 이란을 침공한 전쟁 목표가 아니라는 것을 트럼프 대통령이 분명히 밝히고 있다.

President Trump singled out South Korea by name while referring to countries that are not cooperating with the United States in the conflict with Iran. Expressing his dissatisfaction with South Korea’s uncooperative stance, President Trump pointed out, “There is a nuclear-armed nation (referring to North Korea) situated right next to South Korea, and 45,000 U.S. troops are stationed there—yet South Korea has offered absolutely no assistance.”

트럼프 대통령은 “이란 전쟁에서 미국에 협력하지 않는 나라들을 언급하면서, 한국을 콕 찍어 지적했다. 트럼프 대통령은 “한국에 근접한 핵을 보유한 나라(북한을 지칭)가 있고  주한미군 4만5천명이 한국에 배치되어 있지만 한국이 전혀 도움이 안됐다.”고 지적하면서 한국의 비협조적이 태도에 불만을 토로했다.

This is the significance behind President Trump’s remarks last week in South Lawn—made in response to a question from reporter (Janne Pak))—when he stated: “We [the U.S.] love South  Korea; we have a great relationship with South Korea. We are helping  South Korea a lot.”

트럼프 대통령은 지난주 사우스롼에서 본기자(제니 박)의 질문에 “우리(미국)는 한국의 사랑하고 있다, 한국과 훌륭한 관계다. 우리(미국)은 한국을 많이 돕고있다,”고 말한 의미가 여기 에 있다.

This is a complaint-laden expression questioning what assistance South Korea has provided to the United States, particularly in contrast to the U.S. stationing troops and offering aid to ensure South Korea's security.

미국이 한국의 안보를 위해 미군을 주둔시키고 도움을 주고 있는데 비해 한국은 미국에게 무슨 도움을 줬느냐는 불만섞인 표현이다.

With the advent of the Lee Jae-myung administration in Korea today, one cannot help but be concerned about the ROK-U.S. alliance, given that the left-leaning, pro-China bureaucrats within the government tend to favor anti-American sentiments over pro-American ones.

작금의 한국에 이재명 정부가 들어서면서 좌파 친중성향의 관료들이 친미보다 반미를 선호하는 기질이 있어 한.미동맹을 우려하지 않을수 없다.

President Trump is issuing a clear warning that, once the conflict with Iran concludes, nations—including NATO members and EU states that failed to assist the United States will be made to pay a price. It can be seen as a decision to part ways. (End)

트럼프 대통령은 이란과 전쟁을 끝날시 NATO를 비롯해 EU등 미국에 도움을 주지 않았던 국가들에 대해 대가를 치를것에 대해 분명한 예고를 하고있다. 헤어질 결심을 했다고 볼수 있다.(끝)
