“President Trump: The Strait of Hormuz Must Remain Open”

[트럼프 대통령, 호르무즈해협 개방해야!]

A strong warning to allies who are not yet assisting the United States in the war against Iran.

[이란과의 전쟁에서 아직 미국을 돕고있지 않는 동맹들에 대한 강력한 경고.]

“Very disappointed in NATO”

Remarks on the 27th (local time) at “The Future Investment Initiative Priority Summit" held in Miami Beach, Florida, President Trump addressed the situation regarding Iran, stating, "We are currently in negotiations, and it would be good if we could work something out," adding, "Iran is negotiating and is eager to reach an agreement."

27일(현지 시간), 플로리다주 마이애미 비치에서 열린 ‘미래 투자 이니셔티브(FII) 우선순위 정상회의’ 연설에서 트럼프 대통령은 이란 관련 상황을 언급하며, “우리는 현재 협상 중이며, 무언가 타결점을 찾을 수 있다면 좋을 것”이라고 말한 뒤, “이란 또한 협상에 임하고 있으며 합의 도달을 강력히 원하고 있다”고 덧붙였다

In his speech that day, President Trump emphasized that Iran's navy, air force, air defense systems, and communication networks had all been destroyed, and claimed to have eliminated the entire leadership, including the Supreme Leader.

트럼프 대통령은 이날 연설에서도 이란의 해군이나 공군, 방공망 및 통신망이 모두 파괴됐다고 강조했으며, 최고지도자를 비롯한 지도부 인사들을 모두 제거했다고 주장했다.

President Trump also repeatedly pressured Iran, stating, "They must keep the strait open."

트럼프 대통령은 또한 이란을 향해 "그들은 해협을 개방해야 한다"고 거듭 압박했다.

At the same time, Iran emphasized that—although it initially denied the existence of negotiations it had permitted the passage of 10 oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.

그러면서 이란은 처음엔 협상 사실을 부인했지만, 유조선 10척의 호르무즈 해협 통과를 허용했다고 강조했다.

The President joked that Iranians “have to open up the Strait of Trump” in reference to the Strait of Hormuz.

대통령은 이란인들이 호르무즈 해협을 언급하며 “트럼프 해협을 열어야 한다”고 농담했다.  

In a speech delivered on this day, President Trump emphasized that "Iran's navy, air force, air defense network, and communication systems have all been destroyed," and claimed that "all members of the leadership including the Supreme Leader have been eliminated."

트럼프 대통령은 이날 연설에서 “이란의 해군이나 공군, 방공망 및 통신망이 모두 파괴됐다.”고 강조했으며, “최고지도자를 비롯한 지도부 인사들을 모두 제거했다.”고 주장했다.

President Trump repeated that he is “very disappointed in NATO” and mocked a few European leaders for declining to help in the Middle East. He added: “If the big one ever happened, I guarantee you NATO wouldn’t be there.

트럼프 대통령은 자신이 “NATO에 매우 실망했다.”고 반복했으며, 중동에서 도움을 거부한 몇몇 유럽 지도자들을 조롱했다.”고 덧붙였다.  그러면서 “만약 큰 일이 일어난다면, NATO는 그곳에 없을 것이라고 확신한다.”고 말했다.

The President repeated his disappointment with NATO and said that “based on their actions” he doesn’t see why the U.S. should continue to protect them. He said that is “breaking news.”

대통령은 나토에 대한 실망을 반복하며 “그들의 행동을 근거로”미국이 그들을 계속 보호해야 할 이유를 알 수 없다고 말했다. 그는 그것이 “속보”라고 말했다.

“Why would we be there for them if they are not there for us?” he said.

그들이 우리를 위해 있지 않았다면, 우리는 왜 그들을 위해 있어야 합니까?”라고 그는 말했다.

President Trump expressed dissatisfaction not only with Middle Eastern and European nations for failing to assist the United States, but also with Ukraine for not providing aid during the conflict with Iran.

중동 및 유럽국가들이 미국을 위해 돕고 있지 않는것에 대해 트럼프 대통령은 이란과의 전쟁에서 우크라이나가 돕지 않고 있는 것에 대해서도 불만을 토로했다.

President Trump pointed out that the war in Ukraine is not America's war; therefore, there is no compelling need for the United States to intervene in it.

트럼프 대통령은 우크라이나 전쟁은 미국의 전쟁이 아니다. 그러므로 우크라이나 전쟁에 미국이 꼭 개입해야 될 필요가 없다는 지적도 했다.

This foreshadows a veiled warning regarding the future repercussions that await those nations not yet assisting the United States in the war against Iran.

이는 아직 이란과의 전쟁에서 미국을 돕고있지 않는 나라들에 대한 차후 대가를 치를것에 대한 암시를 예고 하고 있다.

It has been revealed that Russia is already assisting Iran with drones, missile defense, and other support. It appears that taking swift action when a crisis strikes is not, after all, what true allies are supposed to do.

러시아는 이미 이란에 드론 및 미사일 방어등을 돕고 있다고 밝혀졌다. 미국의 동맹들이 위기땐 발빠른 행동으로 나서는 것이 진짜 동맹들이 할 일이다.

Amidst these developments, the United States is taking steps to divert weapons originally earmarked for Ukraine for use in a potential conflict with Iran. Regardless of the specific source from which U.S. weaponry is drawn, it is standard practice particularly in urgent situations to reallocate and redeploy assets as needed. (End)

이런가운데 미국은 우크라이나에 지원할 무기들을 이란과의 전쟁에 사용하기 위해 움직이고 있다. 미국의 무기들이 어디에서 충당되던 급할때는 서로 빼기도하고 다시 배치하기도 하는것이 정석이다.(끝)
