Pentagon Press Secretary General Ryder announced today (the 19th, local time) that Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander of the Indo-Pacific Command, will preside over a ceremony on the 20th in which General Paul LaCamera will hand over command of the United Nations Command, ROK-US Combined Forces Command, and US Forces Korea to General Xavier Brunson.

The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced on the 19th that it has estimated that the number of casualties among North Korean troops deployed in Russia is in the hundreds. He said. “This kind of irresponsible, knife-wielding rhetoric in a nuclear-armed state is clearly unjustified,” “We have not seen any changes in the strategic force posture of the Russian military that would require changes on our part.” He added, “Certainly, we will continue to work with our allies and partners around the world to ensure regional security and stability.”

I'm not going to have a breakdown for you in terms of KIA versus wounded, but several hundred have. And as they engage in combat with the Russians, you know, we certainly would anticipate that those numbers will go up.

We have not seen any shift or change in the strategic force posture of Russian forces that would necessitate a change on our end. Certainly, we're going to continue to work with allies and partners around the world towards regional security and stability.
