조 바이든 대통령 당선자는 오늘(19일, 현지) 2021년 1월 20일 공식 대통령 취임식을 위해 워싱턴 DC에 도착한후 곧바로 워싱턴 마뉴먼트가 펼쳐지고 있는 잔잔한 호수가의 COVID-19 추모기념 행사장으로 향해 코로나 19으로 희생당한 사람들을 기억하며 추모행사를 가졌다.


@워싱턴 DC 호수가 펼처진 마뉴먼트 공원 COVID-19 추모기념공원에서 바이든 대통령 당선자와 해리스 부통령 당선자 내외가 참석한 가운데 간단한 행사가 진행됐다.(1-19-2021)

전국적으로 행해지고 있는 이번 추모 기념행사에서 바이든 대통령 당선인은 COVID-19 추모 기념사에서 '해가 질때는 모든 먼지들이 휩씁려져 어둠을 형성하고 있지만 머지않아 곧 해가 뜨면 이것들도 다 지나갈 것이다.'고 말하면서, 코로나로 인해 지금은 어려움을 겪고 있지만 곧 밝은 날이 올것이라는 메시지를 전했다.

백악관으로 들어올 바이든 대통령과 퇴임을 하루 기다리고 있는 트럼프 대통령의 교차로에서 미국민들은 공화당이든 민주당이든 당을 초월해 미국이란 국가를 어떻게 잘 운영해 나가며 미국민들의 이익을 위해 대통령에 대한 기대가 많을 뿐이다. 미국민들은 화합과 통합을 원하고 있다.

바이든 새 행정부에 기대하는 미국민들의 마음은 화합과 통합이며 나아가서는 펜데믹(Pandemic)으로 인한 경제문제 해결에 총력을 다해 주길 바라고 있다.
