On the morning of the 28th (local time), President Trump held back-to-back meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Zelensky in the Oval Office at the White House.

트럼프 대통령은 28일(현지시간)오전 백악관 오발오피스에서 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리와 젤렌스키 우크라이나 대통령과 연쇄 회담을 가졌다.

It is unusual for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Ukrainian President to visit the White House on the same day while the wars involving Iran and Ukraine are still ongoing.

이란 전쟁과 우크라이나 전쟁이 아직 끝나지 않고 진행중인 가운데 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리와 우크라이나 대통령이 같은 날 백악관을 방문한 것은 이례적이다.

On that day, after holding back-to-back meetings with President Trump, Netanyahu and Zelenskyy met in person and conversed for the first time in three years at the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham.

이날 네타냐후와 젤렌스키는 트럼프 대통령과 잇달아 회담을 한데 이어 린지그레이엄 상원의원의 장례식장에서 3년 만에 직접 만나 대화를 나눴다.

The possibility of Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords was discussed during the meeting. However, it was stated that there was no pressure to expedite the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip or to withdraw Israeli forces from Syria and Lebanon.

이날 회담에서 사우디아라비아가 아브라함 협정에합류할 가능성에 대해 언급됐다. 하지만 가자지구 재건을 서두르라거나 시리아와 레바논에서 이스라엘군을 철수하라는 압박은 없었다고 밝혔다.

After meeting with President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "It was an excellent meeting—one of the best ever," adding that they shared an understanding on various issues, including the common goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

베냐민 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리는  트럼프  대통령과 회담한 뒤 “훌륭한 회담이었고 역대 최고의 회담 중 하나였다”며 “이란의 핵무장을 저지하겠다는 공동의 목표를 비롯해 여러 사안에 대해 이해를 같이했다”고 밝혔다. .

Concerns arose regarding potential tension after it became known beforehand that Netanyahu intended to share intelligence with President Trump concerning Iran’s secret nuclear facility, "Fordow" (often referred to as "Pickaxe Mountain"); Trump had remarked in a pre-meeting Fox News interview that "Bibi [Netanyahu's nickname] doesn't need to tell me about  that," a comment that appeared to have ruffled his feathers.

이날 이란의 비밀 핵시설 ‘곡괭이산’과 관련, 네타냐후가 트럼프 대통령에게 정보를 전달할 것이라고 미리 알려지자 트럼프 대통령은 회담 전 폭스뉴스 인터뷰에서 “그것에 대해 비비(네타냐후의 애칭)가 내게 말해줄 필요는 없다”고 언급해 트럼프 대통령의 기분을 건드린것 같아 긴장이 조성 된것이 아닌가 우려됐다.

In this regard, Tzipi Hotovely, Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister who accompanied Netanyahu, stated, “The notion that we brought specific intelligence to this meeting is fake news,” adding, “We cooperate with U.S. intelligence agencies through our own channels; the meeting was not necessary for the purpose of conveying information.”

이와 관련, 네타냐후를 수행한 치피 호토벨리 이스라엘 국가공공외교국장은 “우리가 이번 회담에 어떤 정보를 가져왔다는 식의 발상은 가짜뉴스”라며, “우리는 자체 채널을 통해 미 정보당국과 협력한다. 정보를 전달하기 위해 회담이 필요했던 것은 아니다”라고 했다.

Hotovely also reported that during the meeting, when Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to Senator Lindsey Graham as Israel’s “greatest friend,” President Trump corrected him, saying, “I am Israel’s greatest friend. Lindsey was number two.”

또한 이번 회담에서 네타냐후 총리가 고 린지 그레이엄 상원의원을 이스라엘의 ‘최고 우방’이라고 칭하자, 트럼프 대통령은“이스라엘의 최고 우방은 나다. 린지는 2인자였다”라고 정정하는 일도 있었다고 호토벨리는 전했다.

The core message conveyed by the leaders of the United States and Israel during their meeting is that they will not tolerate Iran's nuclear program.

미국과 이스라엘의 양국 수장이 회담에서 밝힌 내용은 이란의 핵을 용납하지 않을것이라는게 핵심 내용이다.(끝)
