“President Trump: “We do not need China's help."

[트럼프 대통령, “우리는 중국의 도움 필요없다.”]

On the 12th (local time), as he departed the White House for a visit to China, President Trump spoke to waiting reporters before boarding Marine One on the South Lawn, stating that he expects trade issues to be the top priority during his meeting with President Xi Jinping in China.

트럼프 대통령은 12일(현지시간) 중국을 방문하기 위해 백악관을 나서는 중 사우스롼에 대기중인 마린원에 탑승하기 전 대기중인 기자들에게 중국 방문 중 시진핑 주석과의 회담에서 무역 주재가 최우선 과제가 될 것으로 예상한다고 말했다.

Contrary to predictions that he would request China's assistance in resolving the Iran issue during this meeting with President Xi, President Trump remarked regarding the matter: "We do not need China's help."

트럼프 대통령은 이번 시진핑과의 만남에서 이란문제 해결을 위해 중국의 역할을 부탁할 것이라는 예측과는 달리 그는 이란 문제에 있어서 “우리는 중국의 도움이 필요하지 않다.”고 말했다.

President Trump answered a variety of questions from reporters on topics such as congressional redistricting, the conflict between the United States and Iran, and rising fuel costs.

트럼프 대통령은 의회 재구획, 미국과 이란 분쟁, 그리고 연료 비용 상승과 같은 주제에 대해 기자들의 다양한 질문에 답변했다.

"The most important point I made regarding Iran is that they cannot possess nuclear weapons," the President emphasized. "We must not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. That is the bottom line."

대통령은 “제가 이란에 대해 가장 중요하게 지적한 대목은 그들이 핵무기를 가질수 없다는 점이다.”며 “우리는 이란에게 핵무기를 갖게 해서는 안 된다. 그게 전부이다.”고 강조했다.

When asked, “What is going to be your red line to end the ceasefire?” he replied, “We’ll be thinking about it on the flight, and we’ll be thinking about it for the nest little while, but we’ve beaten their militaries very soundly.”

“휴전 종료를 위한 레드라인은 무엇이냐?”는 질문에, “우리는 비행중에 그것에 대해 생각할 것이며, 앞으로 잠시 동안도 그것에 대해 생각할 것이지만, 우리는 그들의 군대를 매우 확실히 물리쳤다.”고 말했다.

“On the war’s impact on economy?” he said, “The American people understand when it’s over, you’re going to have a massive drop in the price of Oil."

“전쟁이 경제에 미치는 영향?”에 대해서는 “미국 국민은 상황이 끝나면 석유 가격이 크게 하락할 것임을 이해한다.”고 말했다.

Regarding the upcoming U.S.-China summit, the prevailing view among experts is that given the intense back-and-forth between the two nations over contentious issues such as semiconductor regulations, the Taiwan question, and particularly tariffs on China the meeting may fail to yield significant results, contrary to initial expectations.

이번 미중 정상회담에서는 반도체 규제, 타이완 문제등 특히 중국에 대한 관세가도마위에 오르면서 미중간의 밀당으로 예상과는 달리 큰 성과를 기대할수 없을수도 있다는 것이 전문가들의 지배적인 입장이다.

The delegation accompanying President Trump on his visit to China consists of 18 individuals, including Secretary of State Pompeo, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Hegseth, Deputy Chief of Staff Miller, and Eric Trump.

이번 중국 방문에 트럼프 대통령과 동행한 인사로는 루비오 국무장관과 헤그세스 전쟁부장관, 밀러 대통령부비서실장, 에릭 트럼프 등 18명이다.

President Trump’s visit to China is scheduled to take place from the 12th to the 15th, during which he will participate in various events arranged by the Chinese side.

트럼프 통령의 중국 방문 일정은 12일 부터 15일까지이며 중국측이 마련한 다양한 행사에 참여할 것이다.

The previous day, President Trump likened Iran to "a terminally ill patient clinging to life support in a desperate attempt to prolong their final moments," noting that "despite having its military including its navy and air force completely decimated, Iran refuses to surrender and continues to hold out to the very end."

앞서 전날 트럼프 대통령은 이란에 대해 “마지막 생명을 연명하기위해 마치 호흡기에 의존하고 있는 시한부 인생 같다.”고 비유하면서, 이란은 해군 공군 등 군대가 다 파괴 됐음에도 항복하지 않고 끝끝내 버티고 있다.”고 지적했다.

Iran's stalling tactics will not work on President Trump. China is one of the nations upon which Iran relies. China must persuade Iran to ensure that the international community can achieve a peace free of war as soon as possible. (End)

이란의 시간 끌기 작전이 트럼프 대통령에게는 먹혀 들어가지 않는다. 중국은 이란이 의존하는 국가중 하나이다. 중국이 이란을 설득시켜 하루속히 국제사회가 전쟁없는 평화를 맞을수 있도록 해야 한다.(끝)
