At a moment when the global economy and security are teetering on the brink of a war between the United States and Iran, whether or not Iran willingly accepts the negotiations proposed by the U.S. could determine whether or not America’s "fire and fury" are ultimately quelled. The ball is now firmly in Iran's court.

전 세계 경제와 안보가 미국과 이란 전쟁의 찰나에서 요동치고 있는 순간 이란이 순순히 미국이 제안한 협상에 응하느냐 아니냐에 미국의 화염과 분노를 삭히게 될 수도 아닐수 있다. 공은 이미 이란으로 넘어가 있다.

With the deadline for negotiations with Iran just one day away, President Trump held a press conference in the White House Briefing Room on the 6th (local time).

​이란과의 협상시한을 하루 앞둔 상황에서 트럼프 대통령은 6일(현지시간) 백악관 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 가졌다.

Attending today's press conference alongside President Trump were CIA Director Ratcliffe, Secretary of the Army Hegseth, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Caine

오늘 기자회견에는 랫클리프 CIA 국장을 비롯해 헤그세스, 전쟁부장관 케인 합참의장이 트럼프 대통령과 함께 참석했다.

During the briefing, President Trump expressed his confidence in the overwhelming military might of the U.S. armed forces—and offered high praise to the soldiers involved as he recounted the remarkable details of Operation "Epic Fury," which successfully rescued two U.S. pilots who had crashed deep within enemy territory in Iran.

트럼프 대통령은 브리핑에서 이란 적진 한가운데서 추락한 미군 조종사 2명을 전원 무사히 구출해 낸 '에픽 퓨리(Epic Fury)' 작전의 놀라운 전말과 미군의 압도적인 군사력에 자신감과  함께 군인들에게 찬사를 보냈다.

At the same time, he commended the CIA for its efforts, noting that the agency had taken the lead and played a central role in the recent operation to rescue U.S. military pilots.

그러면서 이번 미군 조종사 구출작전에 CIA가 전면에 나서 주도했다면서 CIA의 노고를 치하했다.

Subsequently, the CIA Director Ratcliffe who attended the briefing alongside President Trump stated, “I respect President Trump’s resolute and courageous decision,” and went on to discuss the factors behind the successful rescue of the missing pilot, noting that the operation employed an unprecedented intelligence strategy.

이어 브리핑에 트럼프 대통령과 함께 참석한 랫클리프 국장은 “트럼프 대통령의 단호하고도 용기있는 결정을 존중한다.”면서 이번 조종사 구출에 작전에 전례없는 정보전략을 사용하면서 이번 실종 조종사 구출작전이 성공한 뒷배경에 대해 언급했다.

Director Ratcliffe lauded the intelligence community’s impeccable capabilities, creativity, and courage, stating that the success of this rescue operation was attributable to the CIA’s covert activities specifically, its clandestine operations which remain hidden from the public eye. He further remarked that the very nature of the secrets falling under these special, classified authorities dictates that, quite literally, they cannot and indeed, must not be disclosed to the public in every detail.

래트클리프 국장은 정보국의 완벽한 정보력과 창의성 용기에 찬사를 보낸다면서 이번 구출작전이 성공할수 있었던 것은 대외적으로 드러나지 않는 시아이에이의 활동 즉 미밀 공작 덕분이라고 말했다. 그러면서 이러한 특수 비밀권한에 속한 비밀이란 말뜻 그대로 여러분에  일일이 알려서는 안되는 불가능한 것이다.고 말했다.

This scene truly serves as yet another demonstration that U.S. intelligence capabilities are superior to even those of Israel's Mossad.

그야말로 이스라엘의 모사드보다 미국의 정보력이 세계적이라는것을 다시 한번 입증하는 장면이다

John Ratcliffe assumed the directorship of the CIA in January 2025; he is a seasoned veteran and the first individual to have served as both the Director of National Intelligence(DIA) and the Director of the CIA.

존 래트클리프 CIA 국장은 2025년 1월 취임했으며 국가정보국장(DIA)과 중앙정보국장(CIA)을 모두 역임한 최초의 베테랑 인물이다.

Subsequently, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that today would see the largest-scale airstrikes since the commencement of operations against Iran, and that tomorrow would bring even more airstrikes than today.

이어 피트 헤그세스 전쟁부장관은 오늘 이란 작전 개시 이후 최대 규모의 공습이 있을 것이며 내일은 오늘보다 더 많은 공습이 있을 것이라고 예고했다.

Secretary Hegseth stated, “We will not simply abandon the lives of U.S. troops in enemy territory; even in death, we will safeguard their remains to ensure they are ultimately returned to American soil.”

The special treatment the United States accords to heroes who have sacrificed for their country aligns perfectly with this principle.

헤그세스 장관은 “적진에 미군의 생명을 그냥 놔두고 있지 않을것이며 죽어서도 신체를 끝까지 미국의 영토로 올수 있도록 지킬것이다.”고 밝혔다.

The special treatment the United States accords to heroes who have sacrificed for their country aligns perfectly with this principle.

미국이 나라를 위해 희생한 영웅들에 대한 특별한 대우도 이와 일맥상통하다.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff caine also indicated that U.S. military operations including the recent pilot rescue mission hold a strategic advantage over Iran, and that there is no room for doubt that the United States will ultimately prevail in any conflict with the country.

케인 합참의장도 이번 조종사 구출 작전을 비롯해 전반적인 미군의 작전은 이란보다 우위에 있으며 미국이 이란과의 전쟁에서 반드시 승리할것에 대해 의심할 여지가 없음을 시사했다.

In his speech, President Trump stated, "If we were to wipe out all of Iran overnight, that could happen as early as tomorrow night the deadline for negotiations." He further added, "If we so choose, we could destroy every bridge and blow up every power plant in Iran by midnight tomorrow, rendering them completely unusable." President Trump set the deadline for negotiations with Iran for 8:00 PM Eastern Time on the 7th.

트럼프 대통령은 연설에서 “이란 전역을 하룻밤만에 없앨수 있다면 협상시한인 내일 밤이 될 수도 있다.”고 말했다. 그러면서 “원한다면 내일 자정까지 란의 모든 다리를 파괴하고 모든 발전소를 폭파해 더 이상 사용할수 없게 만들 수 있다.”고 말했다. 트럼프 대통령은 이란과의 협상 시한을 미국 동부시간으로 7일 저녁 8시로 정했다.

In particular, he ratcheted up the pressure by citing specific figures even mentioning the capability to completely obliterate all infrastructure within just four hours.

특히 4시간 안에 모든 인프라를 초토화할 능력이 있다는 구체적인 수치까지 언급하며 압박의 수위를 높였다.

However, coupled with the assertion that the Iranian leadership is effectively in a state of collapse, this approach leaves the adversary with no room for choice; therein lies the U.S. dilemma that there is currently no counterpart willing to sit down with the United States and engage in frank, open-hearted negotiations.

하지만 이란 지도부가 사실상 붕괴 상태라는 언급과 맞물려 상대에게 선택의 여지를 주지 않는 것으로서  현재 미국과 마주앉아 허심탄회하게 협상할 상대가 없다는 것이 미국의 딜레마이다.

President Trump delivered pointed remarks, coupling his scathing criticism of the former Obama administration's Iran nuclear deal with an assertion that allies—including South Korea, Japan, Australia, and NATO had failed to assist the United States, labeling them "paper tigers." He further pointed out that previous presidents had stood idly by while allowing North Korea to complete its development of nuclear weapons.

​트럼프 대통령은 또한 오바마 전 행정부의 이란 핵합의에 대한 강도 높은 비판과 함께, 한국·일본·호주 및 나토(NATO) 등 동맹국들이 미국을 돕지 않았다며 '종이호랑이'라고 지적하는 작심 발언을 했다. 그러면서 과거 전 대통령들이 북한이 핵무기를 완성하도록 방관했다고 지적하기도 했다.

One cannot help but take note of President Trump’s remarks today the latest in a series in which he once again made specific reference to South Korea.

트럼프 대통령이 연이어 오늘도 한국을 언급하는 발언을 주목해 보지 않을수 없다.

President Trump openly expressed his displeasure, asserting that South Korea and Japan—nations under our protection had refused to accept our assistance.

트럼프 대통령은 우리가 지켜주고 있는 한국과 일본이 도움을 거부했다며 노골적인 불만을 드러냈다.

​Emphasizing that 45,000 U.S. troops remain at risk in close proximity to the threat of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, he did not hesitate to criticize a specific predecessor, suggesting that had that president fulfilled his duties properly, North Korea would never have acquired nuclear weapons. This is interpreted as a stern and powerful signal from the United States regarding the future of its alliance relationships.

4만 5천 명의 미군이 북한의 핵무기 위협 옆에서 위험에 처해 있다는 점을 강조하며, 특정 대통령이 제 역할을 했다면 북한이 핵무기를 갖지 못했을 것이라는 비판도 서슴지 않았다. 이는 향후 동맹관계에 대한 미국의 냉정하고 강력한 신호로 풀이된다.

Earlier this morning, during a Q&A session at an Easter event held at the South Lawn where he addressed the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. allies with a sober perspective President Trump stated, "I consider the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to be a top priority."

앞서 트럼프 대통령은 오늘 오전에 사우스롼에서 가진  부활절 행사에서 호르무즈 해협과 동맹국에 대한 냉정한 시선 질의응답 과정에서 트럼프 대통령은 “호르무즈 해협의 재개방을 최우선 순위로 꼽는다.”고 말했다.

Emphasizing that the issue of a potential blockade of the strait requires a strategic approach distinct from standard military strikes, he asserted that the free passage of oil must be unequivocally guaranteed.

해협 봉쇄 문제는 일반적인 군사 타격과는 차원이 다른 전략적 접근이 필요함을 강조하며, 석유의 자유 통항이 반드시 보장되어야 한다고 주장했다.

This serves as a glimpse into Trump-style pragmatic diplomacy—which places economic self-interest and energy security at the forefront—and has led to a prevailing prediction that the Strait of Hormuz, too, will ultimately come under U.S. management. (End)
