"President Trump highlighted his accomplishments to reporters during the first year of his second term." [

“ICE is doing what is necessary to protect the safety of the American people.”

@ On January 20th (local time), President Trump, in the White House briefing room, marked the beginning of his second term by highlighting his accomplishments to reporters, holding up a photograph of a recent incident involving resistance to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids in Minnesota. He praised ICE agents, stating that they are doing necessary work to enforce the law and protect American citizens.>>>

On Tuesday, January 20th (local time), before departing for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Trump delivered a speech and held a Q&A session with reporters in the White House briefing room. This briefing, coinciding with the first anniversary of his second term, provided President Trump with an opportunity to highlight his accomplishments to the press.

The president, holding a thick stack of documents labeled "Achievements," listed the policies he and his administration had pursued since taking office, emphasizing immigration enforcement and economic policies in particular.

President Trump said that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is making tremendous efforts to ensure the safety of American citizens, and that the criminal activities of illegal immigrants are threatening the lives of Americans. He emphasized that illegal immigrants who are committing heinous crimes throughout the United States must be eradicated, and he even showed a photo of a recent incident in Minnesota involving resistance to ICE.

He expressed serious concern that indiscriminate criminal acts in defiance of ICE are weakening the government's authority.

Meanwhile, President Trump acknowledged that his message hasn't always been effectively communicated to voters, and said this briefing was part of an effort to improve that situation. "I think we've done far better than we've gotten credit for," he said. "We haven't focused on the public relations aspect. We're doing a great job, and we're letting the public relations take care of itself."

President Trump also addressed several sensitive issues, including the pursuit of acquiring Greenland, tensions with NATO allies, and the peace plan for the Gaza Strip. When asked how far he was willing to go to acquire Greenland, the president replied, "You'll find out soon."

President Trump departed Washington late Tuesday night to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, an annual event that brings together world leaders, policymakers, and business executives. However, shortly after takeoff, White House officials announced that the president's plane had returned to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland due to a "minor electrical issue." The president then boarded another aircraft and continued his journey to Davos.(End)
