"Trump and Netanyahu's meeting: Will Netanyahu be pardoned soon? [트럼프와 나타냐후 총리의 회담_ 네타냐후 곧 사면 되나?]

President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting on December  29 (local time) at President Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida.

트럼프 대통령과 베냐민 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리는 29일(현지시간) 플로리다주 팜비치 마러라고에 있는 트럼프 대통령의 저택에서 회담을 가졌다.

After the meeting, Trump and Netanyahu held a press conference. Before the press conference, Trump said, "We had a big meeting with a lot of people, and I think we reached many conclusions." He added, "There's very little difference between what we're looking at  and where we want to be, where we want to go." Trump thanked Netanyahu, and they shook hands.

회담이 끝난후 트럼프와 네타냐후는 기자회견을 가졌다. 트럼프는 기자회견에 앞서 “우리는 많은 사람들과 큰 회의를 했다. 그리고 나는 우리가 많은 결론에 도달했다고 생각한다.”라고 말했다. 그러면서 “우리가 보고 있는 것과 우리가 가고 싶은 곳, 가고 싶은 곳에는 거의 차이가 없다.”고 말했다. 트럼프는 네타냐후에게 감사를 표했고 그들은 악수를 했다.

During the press conference, when asked about evidence of Iran's capabilities, Trump responded, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." Netanyahu glanced at President Trump and smiled slightly.

트럼프는 기자회견에서 “이란의 능력에 대한 증거에 대한 질문을 받고”, “연기가 있는 곳에는 불이 있다”고 답변했다.  나타냐후는 트럼프 대통령을 바라보며 살짝 미소를 지었었다.

Netanyahu said that Trump would receive an "Israel Prize" for his "tremendous contributions to Israel and the Jewish people." The prime minister then invited Trump to Israel's Independence Day celebration. When Trump said that the Abraham Accords would be expanded, he nodded and watched intently as President Trump answered questions from reporters.

네타냐후는 트럼프가 “이스라엘과 유대인에 대한 엄청난 공헌으로 ”이스라엘 상을 받을 것이라고 말했다. 그러면서 총리는 트럼프를 이스라엘 독립 기념일에 초대했다.  트럼프가 아브라함 협정이 확대될 것이라고 말했을때 그는 고개를 끄덕였으며 트럼프 대통령이 기자들의 질의에 응답하는 것을 완전히 바라 보고 있었다.

During the meeting, President Trump told reporters before meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, "Netanyahu is a wartime prime minister and a hero," adding, "Does it make sense not to pardon him?" He then mentioned that he had spoken with President Herzog and that the pardon would be granted soon.

트럼프 대통령은 이날 회담에서 네타냐후 총리와 회동 전 기자들에게 “나타냐후는 전시 총리이자 영웅”이라며 “그를 사면하지 않는다면 말이 되냐?”고 말했다. 그러면서 헤르초그 대통령과 통화했다.“며 그는 사면이 곧 진행 될 것이다.”고 했다고 전했다.

Last month, President Trump sent an official letter to President Herzog, claiming that the corruption allegations against Prime Minister Netanyahu were a political attack and requesting that he be granted a pardon. Prime Minister Netanyahu also sent an official letter to President Herzog, requesting a pardon so that he could focus on Israel's national security and regional peace agreements.

트럼프 대통령은 지난달 헤르초그 대통령에게 공식 서한을 보내 네타냐후 총리의 부패 의혹 혐의를 정치적 공격이라고 주장하며 그를 사면해 달라고 요청했었다.  네타냐후 총리 역시 헤르코그 대통령에게 자신이 이스라엘의 국가안보와 지역 평화 협정에 집중할 수 있도록 사면해 달라는 내용의 공식 서한을 보냈다.

However, it has been reported that President Herzog is refuting these claims, stating that he did not have any conversation with President Trump.

하지만 이와는 달리 헤르초그 대통령은 트럼프 대통령과 어떤 대화도 나누지 않았다고 이 같은 주장을 반박하고 있다고 전해졌다.

President Trump, who held talks with Ukraine yesterday and is holding talks with Israel today, is currently relaxing at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, combining work at his "mini White House" with a holiday break. (End)
