North Korea fired several ballistic missiles from the inland of Hwanghae Province toward the West Sea yesterday (the 10th, local time). On this day, the ROK-US joint military exercise (Freedom Shield) is beginning, so we are keeping a close eye on North Korea’s provocations.

As Kim Jong-un also revealed the construction of a nuclear-powered submarine, the possibility of technical assistance from Russia is gaining weight.

북한이 어제(10일, 현지시간) 황해도 내륙에서 서해 방향으로 탄도미사일 수발을 발사했다. 이날은 한미 연합군사훈련(프리덤 실드)가 시작되고 있는 때라 북한의 도발에 예의주시하고 있다.

김정은이 또한 핵추진 잠수함 건조를 공개하면서 러시아의 기술지원 가능성에 무게가 실리고 있다.

The White House today strongly condemned North Korea’s launch of ballistic missiles for the first time since President Trump took office yesterday (the 10th, local time).

미 백악관은 오늘 북한이 어제(10일, 현지시간) 트럼프 대통령의 취임 이후 처음으로 탄도미사일을 발사한데 대해 강력히 규탄했다.

In a regular briefing today (the 11th, local time), White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to my question, “North Korea fired several ballistic missiles toward the West Sea yesterday. What is the White House’s response?”

캐롤라인 레빗 백악관 대변인은 오늘(11일, 현지시간) 정례브리핑에서 “북한이 어제 서해안으로 여러 발의 탄도 미사일을 발사했는데, 백악관의 반응은 무엇이냐?”는 나의 질문에,

“We condemn these actions and call on North Korea to cease its illegal and destabilizing actions,” Leavitt said. She also emphasized, “The US-ROK alliance is ironclad, and the Trump administration is maintaining close communication with the ROK as we work together to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific.”

레빗 대변인은 “우리는 이러한 행동을 규탄하며 북한에 불법적이고 불안정을 조성하는 행동을 중단할 것을 축구한다.”고 말했다. 그러면서 “미한 동맹은 철통 같고, 트럼프 행정부는 자유롭고 개방적인 인도-태평양을 촉진하기 위해 협력하는 가운데 한국 측과 긴밀한 소통을 유지하고 있다.”고 강조했다.

Next, when I asked, “What is the reaction of the United States, our ally, to the release of South Korean President Yoon, who was illegally arrested and detained, and what are the chances of a summit meeting with President Trump upon President Yoon’s return?” Levitt replied, “I will ask the NSC about that matter and let you know.”

이어 “불법 체포로 감금된 한국 윤대통령이 감금에서 풀려난데 대해 동맹인 미국의 반응은 무엇이며, 윤대통령 복귀시 트럼프 대통령과 정상회담 가능성은 어떠한가?”라는 나의 질문에, 레빗대변인은 “그 문제는 NSC에 물은후 알려주겠다.”고 답했다.

In preparation for North Korea's provocations taking advantage of the chaotic political situation in Korea, the US and South Korea are preparing a watertight readiness posture.

한국의 혼란스런 정국을 틈타 북한의 도발이 가해질 것에 대비해 미.한 양국은 물샐틈없는 대비태세를 갖추고 있다.

The entire nation hopes that President Yoon will return to work as soon as possible to resolve security vacuums and normalize state operations.

하루속히 윤대통령이 업무에 복귀해서 안보공백등을 해소하고 정상적인 국가운영을 해 나가길 온 국민들은 바라고 있다.

**미국은 결국  한국의 혼란정국에 대해 법치주의에 근거에 따라 한국국민이 원하는 방향으로 결정해야 된다고 확신하고 있다.  결국 법대로 판단해야 된다는 것이지 야당의 사법횡포로 법치주의 근간을 강압적으로 흔들어서는 않된다는 것이 지속적인 입장이라고 볼수있다.

북한이 어제 서해안으로 여러 발의 탄도 미사일을 발사했습니다. 이에 대해 백악관의 반응은 어떻습니까?

A:(Leavitt): “We condemn these actions and we call on North Korea to stop their unlawful and destabilizing actions. As for South Korea, the US and the Republic of Korea's alliance is ironclad and the Trump administration remains in close contact with our South Korean counterparts as we work together to promote a free and open Indo pacific.”
